Ultimately, you need to do what your instructor asks, but make sure both of you are clear on the expectations.
(this was just a couple of weeks ago and although it says disable hyperlinks, it was essentially about requiring APA style and turned into another summary of the issues associated with trying to do that).You'll need to talk that over with the instructor to make sure, but being armed with the information ahead of time can help. They probably don't know that Canvas doesn't support hanging indents. I expect that most instructors are just asking for APA style (my syllabi say that) and haven't actually tried to do the formatting themselves in Canvas or haven't clearly conveyed that it's okay to fudge a little. Click 'Wrap Text' on the home tab of your Excel sheet to create several lines of text that fit within the columns dimensions. Click the box above column B to select the entire column. You might want to read them and then check with the instructor to see if they really want you to do the hanging indents. Wrapping the text in column B ensures the text stays within the dimensions of the cell and creates the visual effect of a hanging indent. There have been a couple of discussions here in the Canvas Community about hanging indents.
